About

United Training Guide is about the craft of workplace learning: making a session clear in purpose, coherent in sequence and useful to the people taking part. It is for trainers, team leads and curious colleagues who shape learning at work, whether they are planning a short demonstration or a longer course. We focus on choices readers can adapt to their own setting, rather than presenting one format as right for every group.

What we cover

Our subjects include learning goals, session structure, practice activities, feedback and the transfer of learning into everyday work. We look at how these pieces fit together: an activity should serve the aim, and a closing prompt should help learners identify a next use for what they have practised.

How we approach it

We explain the reasoning behind a design choice, then make its practical consequences visible. A comparison should show what changes when the format changes; a planning piece should give readers a way to make their own decision. Examples are illustrative, not claims about a particular workplace or guaranteed results.

For readers and contributors

The publication is intended for people who want to think more clearly about learning at work, whether they facilitate sessions regularly or are preparing one for the first time. We welcome grounded explanations and useful questions, especially when they help readers make a thoughtful choice without overpromising.

Our point of view

Learning should travel beyond the room.

Training earns its place when people can see what they are learning, try it with purpose and decide where to use it next.
